I found that very few Christian holidays are actually original and have set a special date just for that religion. One of the most popular religions they use to combine holidays with is Paganism. Paganism usually has negative stigma attached to it and most associate it with magic and the devil. We took over many of their holidays and made them a part of the Christian calendar. These include Easter, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. Christmas is celebrated to mark the birth of Jesus and Easter is celebrated to mark the resurrection of the Messiah. Christianity has been seen as a high-profile religion that promotes positive behavior and beliefs while Paganism is seen as wicked and demonic.
