The question asked is, “What does differentiate Christianity from other religions or faiths that allow Christians to make unique truth claims?” Well, for me, there is only one answer. It is the Person of Jesus Christ. He makes all the difference. Only in Him is there absolute truth. The truth that sets a person free, free indeed from the penalty of sin, free from the power of sin, and ultimately free from the presence of sin. In Christianity, however, God propitiates His wrath by His own action” (p. 185). I cannot take any credit for what God has done for me. Furthermore, Packer (1993) states, “Do you understand this? If you do, you are now seeing to the very heart of the Christian gospel. No version of that message goes deeper than that which declares man’s root problem before God to be his sin, which evokes wrath, and God’s basic provision for man to be propitiation, which out of wrath brings peace” (p. 189). In other words, in order to receive the peace of God, one must make peace with God (Rom. 5:1
