One main result of this was the division of the religion between the Shia and Sunni Muslims. Islam believes their salvation is in their belief, remembrance, repentance in one God, fear of God, and hope in God’s mercy. Both believe in life after death with God if you served him while on Earth, but if you didn’t you go to Hell, the opposite of Heaven. Islam and Christianity also believe in the second coming of Jesus.
