Christian Worldview: The Many Possibilities Of Worldviews

The Many Possibilities of Worldviews There are many different worldviews throughout the world. My worldview though follows along with the Christianity worldview. I felt like I knew everything and anything about God, but once I started a class called “Christian Worldview”, I realize that I actually did not know that much about the Bible or God’s word. As the class went on, I learned plentiful about Him. It’s coming close to an end and I feel like I’m going to lose a part of myself. I never felt so close to God before. It’s such a wonderful feeling. Looking back at my past before I found Christ, I was heading in a wrong direction. I’m forever grateful.

It did not happen overnight. My parents were fighting left and right; when I was at home it did not feel like home. I needed somewhere to escape. That is when I started to escape to Jesus. My friend always told me even though I did not know who God was, He loves me more than I could ever know. I never knew what to do, I once read that “…the interpretations an investigator places around the data fathered are controlled by the beliefs the investigator holds.” (Cosgrove, 2006, pg. 21). When I started to look who Jesus really was, I was influenced by the Mormonism worldview. Everything that I was taught came from that worldview; there was not another religion in my life. My heart told me that the LDS worldview was not the religion that was true to Christ’s word. One of the many reasons why the Mormon religion does not call to me is because “[the] Gold plates from the Angle Moroni, and then they disappear and are supposedly taken to heaven and never seen again,” (Strobel, 2000, pg. 97). I do not understand how Joseph Smith was presented with these Golden plates and then they were gone. No one else saw them. I turned away from Mormonism in search of Christ’s true word. From there I found the church that changed my life forever; Mission Community Church. One thing lead to another and I decided to attend Grand Canyon University. Christian Worldview taught me that there is much more to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit than what I thought

Many people in the world today have decided that a world view does not matter; that everyone can simply believe what they would like to believe, and it would not make a difference. However, this is not true; a man’s worldview determines his every act! For many years I felt a tugging in my heart that there was something for me to do. I felt as if there was more, but I did not know what it was nor did I know how to grasp it. I was raised in church, but it wasn’t until I became a member of First Church of God, Evanston, IL (now First Church of God Christian Life Center), that my walk with God developed. I attended Bible Study, a women’s ministry group, I was in the choir for a short period of time and I became close friends with the pastor and his wife. Being a part of the different ministries, sparked even more within my heart, but I still did not know what it was, I felt a void.…

On August 26, 2005, I gave my life to Christ, and it was the start of a whole new chapter of my journey. I still remember that night vividly in my head. The feelings of excitement, joy, and love were very tangible in my heart. My mom and dad were both sitting beside me on my bed while I was told the importance of this decision and how my life would never be the same. Even at 5 years old, I was aware of my decision to follow Jesus and accept him into my heart.…

Christianity has always been a large part of my life, as far back as my memories will reach. I grew up in a Christian home and we would go to church just about every week. From there, I thus knew about Christianity from your typical church atmosphere where your parents stick you in a room with other children as they go listen to the sermon. To be completely honest, I truly don’t remember learning much, but just wanting to be back home so I could play. In fact, I don’t remember where I really understood that Jesus is my saviour; all I know is that it’s a deeply ingrained fact in my mind.…

My church has many opportunities to get involved, while looking at theses opportunities I chose the ones that fit myself best. These consist of being a youth worker in the nursery and participating in teaching sunday school during church services. If I could change anything it would be to volunteer more in the kitchen and in the summer programs. This would let me fellowship and grow with other believers. This summer I worked as a youth worker for a concert where I helped prepare food and brought it to the bands playing at my church.…

As a child, religion is a hard concept to grasp just stories of someone from a long time ago performing miracles on people always put me to sleep on Sundays. Every week my parents would force me to go to church and classes but I never liked it or really even knew if I believed in it, I struggled a lot with my beliefs and realized that I can't believe in something that I couldn't see. My Grandparents continued to pursue me into going to church with them on holidays or even a couple times a month but each time I would listen I never felt God's love. As a part of my Catholic confirmation I had to go to a retreat called “Antioch”, in the days prior to this weekend I dreaded having to go and thought that it would have no impact on me whatsoever. The experience of Antioch was completely life changing and it opened my eyes to finding God's light in my own life.…
