“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” (Matthew 28:19 NIV)
Christians have a calling stated as plainly as the sun is in the sky to reach out to those that are lost in every corner of this earth and show them who Christ is and how He can be there for them. However, that is much easier said than done for almost everyone. Sharing the gospel is a mission all Christians have, but is found to be hard to follow by quite a few due to the excuses we as Christians like to make such as a lack of knowledge to share or fear of being unaccepted and denied. We have to notice the high need to answer the undertaking of evangelism and some of new strategies that come with

Even though the stories date back to the beginning of time, the lessons that can be learned from its pages can be applied to everyday life. It gives teachings on things such as grief from the loss of a loved one to the joy that can be felt from God’s blessings. Its knowledge surpasses each generation because it is the underlying virtue applies to all. While letters were the norm a hundred years ago versus today’s cell phones, there can still be a lot to grasp from a lesson on communication. Same can be said for things such as relationships, friendships, families, wisdom, and humility just to scratch the surface. The Bible has something on each and every one of these topics as well as many more that will help everyone live a life full of God and the glory He has for each and every one who follows …show more content…
Like it was previously stated, evangelism is sharing the good word and the easiest way to do that is to speak it. When speaking, people only want to stay and listen if it applies to them and helps them by being clear. By keeping evangelism practical and contemporary people will be able to understand what is being said and will also feel that it applies to them. When addressing people and what they want to hear, they also want to hear answers which is where the last characteristic ties in. If these three characteristics are tied into how a message of sharing the gospel is shared, it will have a much stronger impact on a much larger crowd because it is being done

Discipleship is a word that a lot of churches throw around but rarely carry out a process to which a person can be brought from conversion to maturity. Dr. Robby Gallaty, the pastor of Long Hollow Baptist Church, claims that the one essential element of discipleship is replication/reproduction. He goes on to state in one of his sermons that Discipleship is the twenty-first-century reformation. The three main resources it takes for discipleship are manpower, money, and mandate. If you are going to succeed in discipleship Dr. Gallaty gives three main groups that you must work on.…

By using these real-life stories, Self helps put names and faces, even if imaginary, to the principles described in this book. These real-life illustrations help us to understand how we can take the message of Christ into every aspect of our lives and ministries. Pentecostal Leadership becomes more than just preaching good messages on Sunday Mornings, but it means communicating the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that the congregation can take it with them on Monday and share it with the people they work and interact with. As long as the message of Christ stays in the church, it will never complete the task of Acts 1:8. The message of Pentecost give us power to become witnesses throughout the world.…

A handful of our members are active in local gospel ministries and are laboring to witness for Christ in their spheres of influence. However, I believe the majority of our membership is languishing in a state of apathy when it comes to evangelistic outreach. For some, there may be no sense of urgency in reaching people for Christ in our community, while for others there may be a desire to do so mixed with a feeling of being ill-equipped to the task. Many of our members are above sixty years of age, and they fear they have no way of finding common ground with the younger generation in order to build relationships.…

Jesus and Paul presented the unadulterated message of God to a diversity of people in an effective and relevant fashion. They remained faithful to God, while not compromising to appear pleasing to the world, yet relevant and inclusive. They understood what God wanted: He wants to reach all people with His message. The point is not to merely reach all people and it is not to merely have God’s message. Rather, it is to communicate the Kingdom of God in a way that one’s audience may understand.…

To quote my grandmother, “the easy road is not always the right one.” No matter how easy it may be to push my beliefs to the side and just accept whatever job may come my way, the journey back from compromise is far harder than anyone would like to imagine. In her article “Your Calling,” Andree Seu commented “You had better think twice about saying to yourself: “I need to suck it up in order to be light and salt in this (town). What kind of light and salt can you be now? You have just taught them that you are willing to compromise your convictions.”…

Wagner states, “Religious dialogue has in some ways been transformed in recent years… and networking technologies make it possible, in ways unimaginable a hundred years ago, for people to interact with others around the world and learn about their traditions, values and beliefs” (Wagner 99). In Matthew’s Gospel, specifically in Chapter 7, we can see one of the most fundamental principles of Christianity being shared. This Gospel, intended for early Christians from the first centuries, emphasizes on the topic of judging others. Its purpose at the time, was to bring a new point of view about judging other people that may share our same flaws. The main concept in this chapter is not to judge others, so that you will not be judged. In the excerpt, the main example is: ‘’why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?’’, in other words, why do you look for flaws on others, without first looking at yours.…

Narrative ethics is the idea that a person is within a story that he or she should follow (Wilkens, 2011). Christian narrative ethics hold this same idea; however, it follows the story of God and Christianity. The narrative of Christianity is the point of ethics and therefore, cannot be separated. Stanley Hauweras believes strongly in Christian ethics as the main narrative ethics. He claims that ethics cannot be separated from the theology and points to new ideas as proof.…

Christians are called to become more effective in all these areas, but the Lord has given these gifts more to others. It is the Church’s responsibility to bring the people who have these gifts to help teach and develop these gifts in others. Some with the gift of prophesy need to come along those that are weaker in this area and help them along to become more Christ like. Vice versa with the one who is a prophet will need help with a gift of the person that they had helped. Pastor John breaks down these categories of people into: shepherd-these are the ones who take care of the peoples’ needs, teacher- these are the people in the Word studying and preaching the Truth, evangelist- are…

Introduction into this book and videos covers how we need to set long term goals, but before doing so we need to ask ourselves some questions. Before we can set those goals we should seek to know Christ. This can be done by reading the four gospels and seeing what Jesus did, what we can learn from him, and how does it relate to us? Jesus’ last commandment was to go and make disciples, and while principles never change, our methods have to change in order to reach the current generation, and each beyond. As we get into the chapters we learn that men are God’s method and while they may seem unlearned or ignorant by man’s standards, God uses those willing to learn and raises them into leadership.…
