• What does Christian Science mean to you?
For me, Christian Science is the feeling of complete security and total lack of fear because I feel the amplitude of God’s love. My relationship with God is the most significant aspect of my life, and Christian Science is what I have always been most devoted to. I learned how much Christian Science means to me when it was tested at my previous school. The culture at this school was profoundly Catholic, it was one where I had to hide my cross and crown necklace in my shirt, and one where I had to conceal the biggest part of my identity every day. I attended, knowing that if the school discovered that I was a Christian Scientist, they would have started viewing me negatively.

The first is my personal study of Christian Science, I am an avid and studious Christian Scientist who constantly works to learn more; I would bring my work ethic to the college and continue to study and pray. The second part of serving the Cause of Christian Science is accomplished when I use my spiritual knowledge to uplift other people’s thoughts and preform acts of selfless service. At the College I plan on using Christian Science to help heal the world. Although this goal is large, I am completely capable of achieving it for two reasons; one, because I am someone who thinks large picture but persists to always bringing my visions into reality, and two, because I have eternal support from God. I will start out small and local, by organizing campus lecturers and Christian Science conferences on praying for global issues, to heal peoples’ thoughts on issues. At Principia I will help heal the world by organizing a biblically based Israel abroad with a humanitarian aspect of taking supplies to Syrian refugees who fled to Israel. I will serve the Cause of Christian Science as a college student by continuing to grow as a Christian Scientist, so I can use my high-mindedness to help heal the world and increase Principia’s involvement in global prayer and service

Given the structure of the Christian religious traditions, Christian’s belief in miracles, expressions of divine intervention and the adherence to teachings, practices, and rituals associated with the faith with an established heritage and long history, many scholars…
