Dear Fort Morgan United Methodist Church Endowment Scholarship Committee,
I am writing today in regards to the Permanent Endowment Scholarship offered through our church. I was very fortunate to have received this scholarship for the past two years; it has helped relieve the out-of-state financial burden and it felt comforting entering the next chapter of my life knowing I had my church family from home supporting me. I am asking you today to please consider me for this scholarship as a reapplying college student.
For the past two years, I have continued my college education at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. My major is Wildlife and Outdoor Enterprise Management; it is a unique degree that is teaching me about the business side of wildlife management and recreation. The required curriculum includes many different classes, from accounting to wildlife biology to hospitality. I have been very busy with my classes, but I have worked extremely hard and I am maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. My academics have allowed me to earn Semester Honors, and two …show more content…
Both of these organizations are campus ministries in the Manhattan area. I have been involved in both organizations and I have learned a lot from each. Every Thursday, Christian Challenge hosts a church service in our Student Union. Every Wednesday, Ichthus hosts a service in different houses in the Manhattan area. The focus of Ichthus is the house church setting which allows for one-on-one conversation and a very personal religious connection. Through both organizations, I have met many like-minded individuals that have helped me grow in my relationship with God. I do not attend both services each week and some weeks I do not make it to either. However, I attend when I can and I bring friends whenever it is
