Booker T. Washington stated, “Character is Power.” Character is a driving force of who we are, and how we conduct ourselves. Character sets the tone of what we do, whether we are in a group or in a setting by ourselves. Dwight L. Moody shares, “Character is what you are in the dark.” In other words, what we do by ourselves, we should be able to do the same thing in public. Character can also be a synonym to Integrity. Both words state that one must be morally correct in our actions. In staying with morals, what about Christian Character? Do we understand what Christian Character is about? Are we walking in the upright Character of God? These questions and more will be answered throughout this talk.
According to the Oxford Dictionary describes the character as, “The mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. For youth ages 12-35, Maximum Impact is the camp activity designed to help the age group reach their fullest spiritual potential. This program will also work to discover, develop, and demonstrate the gifts and abilities to impact the world,” citing the convention. Naming two different denominations shows that character is still a needed aspect of the body of Christ.
