The Ten Commandments are foundational rules that function as a moral compass of ethical guidance. They exemplify key principles of Christian ethics and are integral to Christian adherent lifestyle. A contemporary, moral issue that exists in today’s society is abortion. The Catholic church considers abortion as a grave sin, as it goes against the commandment “You shall not murder” [Exodus 20:13], a commandment that teaches us to respect life.
