When Chris graduated from high school, he set out on a trip to Arizona. He was told by his family that he needs to call at the end of everyday. Chris followed the rules given by his family at first, but then later faded away. His family was so worried about him. His sister, Carine said, “ Chris didn’t think twice about risking his own life…” (Chapter 13, pg. 128). Chris shows how selfish he is by not showing any respect towards his family by constantly leaving to go on dangerous trips and being a reckless idiot and not taking care of himself properly. Later, when Chris set out on his trip to Alaska, he purposely didn’t tell his family where he was going and when he would be back. He left his family sad, worried, and confused with no explanation,
