Sean Penn does an outstanding job creating the film adaptation of Jon Krakauer’s Book, Into the Wild. The film also dubbed, Into the Wild, tells the spectacular and tear jerking true story of Christopher McCandless (played by Emile Hirsch). Penn, shooting in the same locations Chris traveled, gives us a clear and accurate image of Chris’s journey through North America. Notes written within the many notebooks of Chris, display across the screen throughout the film in bright yellows, making sure to draw your attention. The thought behind the film is phenomenal, shown easily through the narration, done by Carine, Chris’s sister (Jena Malone) . You can almost feel the connection between yourself and Chris. This film is sure to bring out the wanderlust from within. Into the Wild, is a 4.5 stars out of 5 and must watch for all.

It is reflective and serious, yet uplifting and hopeful. It tells the story of a young man taken too soon by his will to just live, but depicts perfectly the lives he touched during his journey. The film establishes that we need help from our friends every once in awhile, and that sometimes we have to depend on the kindness of strangers—even though Chris said otherwise in the beginning of his journey by saying, “You don't need human relationships to be happy, God has placed it all around us”. By the end of his life Chris determined that, “Happiness only real when shared”. This film is a tribute that will stay with us just as words that Chris carved onto our hearts always
