To be able to enter a car with strangers and let them drive you places would be terribly scary. Chris did this several times throughout his odyssey and never seemed bothered or frightened by it. For example, he acquired rides from Jim Gallien, Stuckey, Ronald Franz, and Jan Burres and her boyfriend Bob. He did not have a clue who any of them were before they picked him up. The fact that Chris went out into the wild alone and without any way to get in touch with others took loads of courage too. The wild is so unpredictable and all kinds of animals are wandering. Typically, people would become fearful if they crossed an elk or bear in the wilderness. In conclusion, Chris led a life full of adventure and surprises. He was always itinerant and never seemed to stay in one place for too long. Although Chris made multiple decisions ordinary people would not have agreed on, he did not seem to regret many of them. I mostly agree with Shaun Callarman’s statement about Chris’s life. Chris made a surplus of choices I believe were just crazy and ignorant.
