Chris is and educated human being, both street and book smart. The evidence of him being book smart is him graduating from Emory University. As well as him receiving acceptance into Harvard Law School. He shows signs of being street smart through him taking excursions after high school . McCandless was and adventurer and an extremist. He lived with hippies, he ate with tourists while rafting, he worked shredding wheat and cleaning out containers and absolutely loved it. He was that spontaneous and expressive person who brings excitement into your life.
You could argue that his methods like going to Alaska during winter while no one is out there, is a terrible idea. In which I subconsciously agree, because he went. But however, he didnt complain he made the best out of the situation. He survived longer than anyone could’ve expected. He used the traits an lessons he learned on the road to make it through the trip to
Alaska. He used the hunting skills to kill things like squirrel, moose and rabbit. Chris took direction well when he felt he needed it. Chris used the traits and lessons and scenery to the best of his ability. He crafted a naturalistic approach to life and was one with earth.
Chris envisioned his “Life” differently from his parents. He saw it as doing the things he loved without a care in the world. Even if that meant sleeping in a old bus during winter,
