Alaska. This was the goal for Chris McCandless and also his devastating end. He traveled all the way from Atlanta, Georgia to Alaska and met his death caused by starvation in an abandoned bus. In “Into The Wild”, Chris's death is announced in the beginning, while the movie doesn't reveal that until the very end. Also unlike the movie, the book is narrated entirely by Jon Krakauer in which he talks to people Chris met on his journey. The characters talked about Chris's death and how he impacted him pre- and post-death. In the movie, these characters were only shown pre-death.
