Another difference would be when the two police officers came and arrested Chris at his home, or that he actually has two children; one not being shown in the film. There were many similarities between the film and the real life events of Christopher Gardner's life; however, there were also a great deal of differences portrayed in the events between the film and the actual story.
Between the film, The Pursuit of Happyness, and the real life events it’s based on, there are droves of similarities. According to the writers of Chasing the Frog, “They locked the door and slept on the floor of the MacArthur station in Oakland, Ca… When people knocked and banged on the door, Chris told his son to remain quiet” (“The Pursuit of Happyness”).
