This piece of artwork by Chris Burden is very complex and thought through in the way it was made but I had trouble connecting to it because of just that. I have yet to understand the meaning and reason this was made. All I know about this art is that every submarine is identical and that there are 625 in total. I'm unsure if the purpose was only to show all the submarines or to show the number of defenses we have. If this art is looked at from a distance, the submarines look like a school of fish all going in the same direction. Every submarine also has the name of it printed on the side in black letters. Overall, I don't understand how to connect to this art and don't see the point on why it was made.
