I absolutely loved choir because of the outstanding choral program my school has to offer, the personal connection I made with my teacher, and the students I grew with in the class. My school has won the Illinois state championship for twenty one years and counting. Also my teacher and I have began to know each and I know I can tell that teacher anything. The best thing that made choir my favorite class I've ever taken would be the students. I grew not only as a musician with the students I saw everyday but as a functioning human in

Music Therapy There is a clinical and evidence-based use of music therapy offering a low-risk, inexpensive, non-pharmacological addition to standard care in pain management. Music therapy assists the patient in helping regain self-control and to become actively involved in the management of pain (Gutgsell et al, 2013). The different types of music interventions include singing, listening to music, and song writing that aid in enhancing relaxation, providing opportunities for self-expression, facilitating communication with loved ones, and bringing beauty to suffering (Gutgsell, 2013). A lot of things can contribute to a successful music program, but one of the central points of success comes from support from a school system’s administration. This success doesn't come from the monetary support but rather, patience to allow the band director to work. When band directors are rushed to achieve certain goals, they tend to cut corners and not build proper fundamentals. In an extended time period, this could ruin a band program and cause numbers, quality of players, and parental support to lower throughout the years. An administration should thoroughly be involved with a director’s program, but an ideal situation would allow the director to take the time to mold the students into the type of people and musicians that can be successful…

As I spent the evening perusing for the Christmas songs, I landed in the trap remixes of Christmas music. Although I enjoyed plenty and even discovered a good playlist on Spotify, I still had to settle with what I consider a classic: Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee. Plenty of songs cause me to feel the Christmas Spirit, but that song in particular makes me remember elementary school. Since my household is relatively scarce of Christmas music or decorations, I didn’t feel the Christmas season until I entered elementary school. The center of the school was a large display of a Christmas tree and several other decorations.…
