Choirs Impact
Choir is a big influence in a lot of people's lives. Choir has helped me in lots of aspects such as my attitude,focus and intellectual vitality.These are some of the most important things that one needs throughout life. Choir has influenced my in Focusing, my attitude, and intellectual vitality.
Firstly one of the things that is important is attitude because having a good attitude with people will help you later in live. Choir has helped improve my mood since i started. Such as after my mother had passed I was having a very rough time but then the first day i came back i went to take two. I was instantly being given hugs and people were talking to me and it helped. Believe or not you actually need a lot of focus to be in choir. Rather it be learning steps or sight reading either way you need lots of focus. Sight reading in particular takes a lot of focus because you need to pay attention to the notes. This is true because you and your peers are looking at this music for the first time so you must pay attention in order to learn the notes just right and to tune the song. One other thing that helps teach me focus is take two because in take two one must pay attention at all time to learn the steps. This is because is you do not get the steps right you stand out and that does not look good to the audience. One thing that will teach you really good focus is sight reading because you take it note by note and you must focus on those notes or you will be off pitch. The thing about sight singing is you are bond to be off pitch at least once but that's okay because you focus will help you get back on track. However if one does not focus they will be off pitch which will clash with the ensemble, which sounds bad, but all things are fixed with focus. One thing that choir has done to my intellect is that it taught me how to read music and inspired me to pursue teaching. This is important because it has help me further my education in the fine arts. It also inspired me to try and learn more about music which is a very good thing. One class that I took to help me further my education is called music theory. This class is also taught by Ms.Simmons and may I add she is a really great teacher and she is very good at inspiring her students. Music theory teaches the basic fundamentals to music such as reading,composing,and just giving you a better understanding of music. Next choir has helped me a lot with my classes such as when I am having trouble remembering a test question I just hum the answer in place of the words in place of the lyrics in one of our choir test. By the way this has saved my but in lots of tests and yes even finals. One final that rings a bell would be my english final my junior year the last semester of the year. I thought I was gonna fail but i just hummed the answers in song format and I got a B on the test. So in conclusion choir has helped me a great deal in this
