The first choice Erik made was, he hit Tino in the face. On page 205, it says, “Immediately faster than I thought he could, faster than Tino thought he could, Erik lashed out, smashing the back of his hand across Tino's face, smashing him so hard that Tino spun halfway around in the air and landed on the grass.” Erik hit Tino because he was so mad about Tino making fun of him. On page 211 Erik says, “We may have a situation here, Bauer.” So Arthur walked to his bag to get a blackjack, and as Luis was talking to Erik, Arthur was walking toward Luis without Luis noticing him. When Arthur reached Luis he turned and hit Luis on the side if the head with the blackjack. Luis came to talk to Erik about him hitting, a little kid, Tino in the face. Later on Monday, November 27, Luis told Paul he was going to fight Erik after practice, but Luis never showed up. On Tuesday November 28, Theresa's dad found Luis dead in his tangerine grove, the sheriff said it was from a tree branch breaking off and falling on his head, starting an aneurysm, but Luis died from the hit in the head from Arthur's blackjack. So because Erik told Arthur to hit Luis, Luis ended up dying. This effected Paul because Luis was one of the only people who wasn't afraid of Erik, and Luis was close to a lot of people including Paul so his death was a big deal to a lot of
