In the article “Chocolate Milk Refuels Muscles After Workout” by Charlene Laino, it talks about how chocolate milk can help you replenish and rebuild your muscles after a good workout. Can fat free chocolate milk really refuel your muscles after a workout according to Charlene Laino it’s a good drink to pick up after you get to done with your workout. This study was held to see if fat free chocolate milk could help your muscles was performed on 8 men that were athletically fit. The men ate a balanced diet for two weeks and at the end of each week they would do a 45 minute fast pace run. At the end of each run they either drank a 16 ounce fat free chocolate milk or 16 ounces of a carbohydrate-only sport drink with the same number of calories. It was all men that were involved in the study and they were all in good physical shape. It was a period of two weeks and they were all on a balanced diet.. …show more content…
The results showed that the muscles were able to rebuild better after drinking fat free chocolate milk compared to the sport drink. With drinking fat free chocolate milk it lead to a higher concentration of glycogen in muscles 30 to 60 minutes after a workout. The author makes it clear that she thinks grabbing a fat free chocolate milk is better for your muscles then a sport drink.

I think what made the researcher conduct this study was to see what other kind of drinks there were to help you rebuild your muscles after a workout and not just be stuck with a sport drink. I don’t think the study was good enough to support the argument. It was a good amount of time for the study to be conducted but there wasn’t enough people involved in the study and there should of been women also being tested
