One thing that is seen as the black man would be the priest (Reynaud) as his way that he acts to Vianne. Another thing that is seen as the black man would be the religious look and the church as a whole. The religious looks from the church put down Vianne and her mother’s way of life for being out by themselves as there is no male guiding them. The church and the people that follow the church all get the thought that Vianne and her mother are sinners, even though Vianne’s mother got to confess every once in a while. The book covered the wind and moving on an on every single time and not staying for very long. It also covers the black man being seen as the priest and the church’s look as a whole. It also covered the look of the priest and how he see’s others and how he thinks other people not right or wrong because he cannot control them. The book ‘Chocolat’ has many outlooks on moving on as running away and other looks of others following. The look that Vianne chooses to break by fighting back against the Black man (Church) in the person representing them
