Chocalate: A Short Story

My family once had a beautiful chocalate lab, her name way May. She loved to run, play, and lay out in the sun. She was friendly to everyone and even other dogs. One gloomy Saturday morning in February we noticed she had escaped from the backyard. We didn't get too nervous because she had gotten out before, but she would always find her way back home to us. Well this time she didn't come back. We got a call from our neighbor, and she told us that she saw our dog in her front yard laying down. My brother drove next door to pick her up and put her in his backseat. She wasn't in good shape. We brought her in the garage and made her warm.She didn't look too great.It was very upsetting to see an animal you've had most of your life hurting. …show more content…
My dad went down to the bottom of the hill and dug a hole for her. It was very upsetting and a very hard experience to go through. The next few days were very hard for my family. It was difficult going from seeing her everyday to not seeing her at all. I think what helped us get through the pain was knowing that she wasn't in pain and was living happy in doggy
