At the age of two,their second child Micah was diagnosed with autism.Chloe’s mother revealed, neither she nor her husband has a history of autism in their family.Therefore, they were bewildered. During that time, Chloe’s parents often felt overwhelmed. Perhaps, the surprise was intensified because their first child,Christy, did not have any special needs.Consequently,Chloe’s’ parents were unprepared for the challenge of raising a child with autism.In the interest of wanting to be prepared, Chloe’s parents prearranged diagnostic testing for their third child.According to the National Down Syndrome Society (2012), prenatal screenings gives parents the opportunity to know the probability of their child having down syndrome and diagnostic testing
