Chloe Kim was born in Long Beach, California on April 23, 2000. She was raised in Torrance, California nearby Long Beach. Her parents are originally from South Korea making Chloe Asian-American. Kim’s father, Jong Jin Kim, quit his job to drive her to the mountains whenever she needed to, and to travel with her to when she competed. She started snowboarding when she was 4 years old and started competing at the age of 6 for Team Mountain High. She went to train in Valais, Switzerland, from 8 to 10 years old until she returned to California and continued training at Mammoth Mountain. In 2013, Chloe joined U.S. Snowboarding.
Chloe Kim currently lives in La Palma, California and goes to Mammoth High School. She studies with the Independent Learning Center. She has gotten accepted to Princeton University’s class of 2022.

Many believe that she is the best teenage girl snowboarder due to the fact that she leaves people with their jaws dropped whenevers she flies through the sky twirling and flipping on her snowboard. But that is not the only reason that Kim is being acknowledged as an influential person, but also for her candid, eager, and relatable personality allowing many to easily understand and adour her . Chloe has been offered to be sponsored by major companies such as Nike, Toyota, Visa, Target, and Monstar. The agreements have helped her pay for her education and other personal items. And due to her Korean heritage, she is marketable in both the U.S. and South Korea. Many people have been impacted by the prodigy Chloe Kim such as most of americans making her America’s sweetheart. Due to her influenced many other women and little girls are looking up to her and setting goals that reach for the sky.
