Chivalry Argumentative Essay

“Chivalry is simply an act of kindness toward a person who is deserving (or not) of receiving that kindness” (Beauti). Chivalry has existed for decades, since knights, princesses, and castles existed. But since then, chivalry has started to fade away. Over the past several years three things have come up: parental influence has lessened, men don’t care about being kind, and feminism. These things have always been there, but lately in the 21st century, it all has become a more critical problem. Being chivalrous is more than being kind to someone, it is about respect and loyalty to a person. Our world would be different if chivalry went away completely and, we must bring it back before it is too late. From the time we are born, we are raised to be kind and to say “yes, ma’am,” and “no, sir.” As we grow older we are exposed to other people. We get to middle school and it isn’t “cool” to be nice to others, so all pre-teens do is be crude to one another. Studies show that once these pre-teen’s are in middle school they lash out, acting like someone they weren’t before. 66% of parents notice a change in their child’s attitude once when they go into middle school. Although chivalry has existed for decades, it is slowly fading away. We all know that the reasons why chivalry is fading has been apart of the community for such a long time. The 21st century has brought less gentlemen and more . As we grow older parental influence is less and less, men caring less about what women think of them, and finally feminism. All these things have increased the past couple of years; because of this chivalry is gone. Men & women need to be civil and show respect for others.
