Palmer’s next steps agreed with the plan that states, “The early history of chiropractic centers around leaders who developed their particular brand of theories and techniques, while organizing schools, writing books, and acquiring supporters” (Greenly 45). He opened Palmer School of Cure in 1897. The college is now known as the Palmer College of Chiropractic (“Origins”). Palmer College of Chiropractic currently has three locations: Iowa, California, and Florida. The College offers associates, bachelors and masters degrees in general science as well as doctorate degrees in chiropractic (“News”). While in undergraduate school, students take courses in biology, chemistry, psychology, physics and many other courses. In graduate school, students spend 4,200 hours in the classroom, laboratory, and clinicals, at a minimum. This curriculum usually takes four to five years to complete. Some of the classes in graduate school include: physiology, nutrition, anatomy, and other health related studies.
