September 5th, 1804 we spotted a deer with black tales cliffs upstream from the mouth of the Niobrara River in northeast Nebraska. On July 9th,1806 in Montana near Sun River we stopped and a plant with a blueish petals on it and Lewis wrote in his journal about the flower. They were friendly to our crew and they exchanged gifts. The chinook tribe were stationary. Because they resided along the lower and middle portions of the Columbia River. They like to fish so they mostly eat fish but sometimes they eat berries.The houses were large and made of wooden planks. They had painted walls and carved posts. However, Chinook houses and no windows.
The religion and beliefs of the Chinook tribe was based on the belief in a Great Spirit and consisted of a mythology based on protective spirits and animal deities. One of their most important rituals of the Chinook tribe was the First Salmon feast which honored the salmon. Skills that Lewis brought to the expedition was he was a trader, a leader, and a guide. Lewis was a positive character to us he was well light to us and was one of the greatest leader. Lewis’s contribution to make our country better, he was elected for governor and returned to positions of affairs.
