Introduction

Additionally, the colour word “green” in this essay refers to “Qing” in Chinese and “Ao/ Sei (あお/ せい)” in Japanese, both of which share the same Chinese character/ kanji “青”. Chinese and Japanese colour word "green", one of typical representatives of language fuzziness, have some similarities and a number of differences in the colour range, common usage and semantic extension.
According to Modern Chinese Dictionary, there are 32 words including colour word "green", in which containing twenty-three green entries such as "green vegetables (qing cai)", "spring onion (qing cong)", "green beans (qing dou)"and so on; one blue entry "blue sky (qing tian)"; five black entries, such as "black hair (qing si)", "black eye (qing yan)"and so on; three yellow-grey entries, "green tea (qing cha)", "bronze (qing tong)", "green glaze (qing you)".
Besides, there are 96 words involving colour word "green", according to Kojien. There are fifty-two green entries, such as "green duckweed (aoukikusa)", "greengage (aoume)", "green peas (aoenndou)"and so on; 16 blue entries, such as "sea (aoumi)", "blue gold
