1. Introduction

Reality shows is a new form of television format latest rise in China’s entertainment industry. By integrating many new elements into the shows, it captured high audience ratings at high pace in China. Reality show originated from western countries, and then gradually spread to the world, until now has formed a new wave in the world. With the growing number of viewing audiences, the Chinese reality shows are facing the problem of how to find a balance between entertainment and social responsibility, ethics and audience ratings while paying attention to the impacts of reality shows on society. Of course, the audiences themselves also have the responsibilities to recognize the impacts and then make a wise choice among the bunch

Other than entertain audiences in front of their television, it truly influences audiences’ entertainment life. In the “Keep Running”, there are many new and creative games introduced by the show, especially the name tag game: everyone has a name tag at their back, the casts must “kill” each other by ripping off others’ name tag, therefore the last one whose name tag was not rip off will be the winner. After the audiences watching it, especially the young generations, they may imitate the games, and play with their friends or family. Other than giving entertainment to the audiences, the reality shows should transfer some correct thoughts to its audiences. Regarding to this, “Where are we going, dad” produced by Hunan Television has done a very good job by integrating Chinese traditional values in the show. In the Chinese traditional family, fathers are usually playing the main role and working hard in their career, while the wife are taking care of their children in home.
