The US has been a blend of races, cultures, and ethnic groups evolving from successive waves of immigration since the very beginning. As far as immigrants coming to the US, Germans were the first in question as to their ability to become ‘real’ Americans. Next, questions were raised about the Chinese, Irish, Eastern European’s and most recently Hispanic-American and Muslim-Americans. This list alone provides a wide range of cultural beliefs and values all located in the US. Buchanan argues that patriotism, the love and loyalty for one’s own country, is at the heart of the nation, however; considering the mixture of immigrants located in the US, there is a mixture of love and possibly still loyalty to their original country.…

My family’s known history began 107 years ago on a boat that took off from Italy and had its sights set on America. Aboard this boat were newly-weds Ernesto and Maria Bellini. They weren’t sure what lay ahead, but like so many other immigrants during that time, they had the determination to plow through whatever challenges they might face. While on board the ship, Maria gave birth to my great-grandfather Fieravante (Fred) Bellini. Due to the birth, the Bellinis decided to stop in Argentina in order to get proper health care for their new born baby.…

    1. Of all the complaints that the Europeans had about the Chinese, which do you think was the most serious? Why? Soon, criticisms that the Chinese were muddying water needed to wash gold turned to a real worry that so much Chinese were coming as to not leave any gold for the Europeans. Chinese - American Immigrants There are two topics I would like to talk about: education and immigration. Education played a crucial role in my life. Education is important to improve the level of national knowledge, update the living standards, get a decent work, gain a comfortable life, and help others. When I came to the United States, as a new immigrant I encountered many problems. For example, nobody could tell me how to do paper work, how to look for a good college and how to find a good job, etc.…

The migration of Asians to America dates back to the 1600s, and the first Asian immigrants were mostly Chinese. Their first stop in the western hemisphere was not North American, but Central America (Mexico), and they arrived on ships of the Manila Galleon. The Manila Galleons were Spanish trading ships that made round-trip sailing voyages once or twice per year across the Pacific Ocean from the port of Acapulco, to Manila in the Philippines, which were both part of New Spain. But, the first large-scale immigration of Asians into the U.S. didn't happen until 1848, around the time gold was discovered in America. The Gold Rush was one of the pull factors that led many Chinese to come to the U.S. to find their fortune and return home rich and wealthy.…
