Population is a big problem in china, the population in 1990 was estimated to be 1.87%, in 2000 it was 0.68 and the population was starting to go down. The year of 2015, the population rate is known to be 0.61. In China, Han Chinese makes up 91% of the population. In Han China couples are allowed to try and have another child if the first one is a girl. China’s sex ratio of boys and girls come to be 113 boys to 100 girls. When the one child policy was introduced in the year 1979, the Chinese government claimed that it was a short term measure and that the goal was to move towards a smaller family culture. But even though the Chinese wished to expand this policy nationwide, they were only able to spread it unevenly across some places in the country. The Chinese tried everything they could to get as many people as they could to do the one child policy. For example, methods of enforcement have included making many methods very available, offering financial motivations and employment opportunities for those who obey the One Child Policy, imposing penalties against those who violate the policy, and at times, refer to stronger measures such as forced abortions and sterilizations to prevent
