My name is Valerie Jane Morris- Goodall I was born April 3 1934 in London. When I was a little girl I would always read "The Story of Dr. Doolittle" after that I new I wanted to live in Africa. Its very easy to tell you about my life because it is very original.

Main Idea 1: what made her want to live with chimpanzees and her journey to get there
At a very young age I was always into animals sometimes I would hide in the henhouse all day long to see how the hens lay eggs. After a while I then chose to live with chimpanzees because my dad got me a little stuff chimpanzee that I named Jubilee. Then I realized that I wanted to learn how they live in their habit. I started discovering things about chimpanzees. I discovered that wild chimpanzees were more like us than people really thought. After I graduated high school my friend invited me to come visit their family farm in Kenya Africa. At that time I known my dream was coming true. A great thing soon happened I got to see meat- eating on October 30 1960 for the very first time also the reason I know the exact date is because it was the best thing that had happened for a long time. A few days past and another breed of monkeys came in the chimpanzee territory and started a fight some of the monkeys saw me and came to fight me after the fight had finished I had gotten mauled. But after that thing started to cool off and go back to the way there. More and more I started to think about all of the things I have learned about chimpanzees.

I decided to write a book it's called "My life among eight wild chimpanzees" I published it August 1963. A little while after I got my Ph.D. In ethology which is the behavior of animals in 1965. Then I started to found my institution for Wildlife Research, education and conservation. In 1984 the groundwork for Chimpanzoo started. Also I began to start the Lake Tanganyika Catchment Reforestation and Education. Then I started writing more book so far I have about 54 books. Coming back home was hard I want people to know all the dangers chimpanzees are in.
