The article I have chosen describes Chilean laws regarding abortion and the recent adjustments made to this law. Abortion is a human rights topic highly debated in many countries all over the world. Before this new piece of legislation was passed, Chile had some of the strictest abortion regulations in the entire world. With this new legislation, abortion is now legal if your case falls under one of the three special circumstances- rape, danger to the mother, and the case of an unviable fetus. Although not all women who fall pregnant will benefit from this adaptation to the law, it is a step in the direction of a major human rights reformation within the cases of abortion in Chile.
