I’ll start off with the children’s section first. The selection available was very large which would interest a large variety of readers. However, the books were sorted using a variety of ways including genre, author, and level right next to each other. This would be fine if the labels were larger to help children realize when the books are sorted differently. One thing I did notice is there was a very tiny section of nonfiction books for this section compared to several shelves full of fiction books. There is also a problem with the shelves as there were shelves that not even myself as an adult could reach or read the titles of the books. I can only imagine how this might be a very large challenge for children in finding a book they want. The …show more content…
Compared to Half Priced Books, the sections at Barnes and Noble were much better laid out and definitely were more appropriate for both children and young adults. The staff here really took care of children and young adults. Several time during my observation of these sections staff came up to me asking if I needed help finding a particular book or genre of book. The children’s section was located at the back of the store and the young adult section at the front of the
