Autism is a mental condition, present from early childhood, characterized by difficulty in communicating and forming other relationships with other people and in using language and abstract concepts. When a child is diagnosed with autism their brain doesn’t develop normally like other kids. ASD affects 1 in 68 children in the United States. Autism can be diagnosed at age 2 or even earlier. ASD is 4 times more likely found in boys than girls.
Autism is an issue because kids can’t live a normal life and get to play around with other kids like climb trees, play video games, and go to school and learn everything that all the other kids are learning. An estimated amount of 50,000 teens with autism that become adults loose school based autism services each year.
