RN Rita Sather explains in the article, “Understanding the Teen Brain” that the analytical section of a human’s brain will not become fully developed until age 25 (1). The brain continues to evolve as aging progresses, until it reaches full advancement. The underdevelopment of the brain means teenagers cannot make fully calculated decisions. Although, as kids have social media, it may not be healthy for them as having social media with older people may influence in a bad way since some people have inappropriate posts that young children could follow. Children look up to older people and follow their actions. For example, in Dooley’s article, “Cyberbullying Versus Face-to-Face Bullying” (182-188), she discusses how many people are anonymous online to harass people on the Internet. Many children could see this and follow their idea which would cause them to be badly influenced.…

In the article, Being 13: Perils of Lurking on Social Media, CNN Wire states: “On all social media feeds, young people are highly likely to see pictures of friends gathering without them, or large groups having a great time at parties to which they were not invited.” Students could feel left out if they see a picture, say, of their friends without them, which could make them highly question if they are as cool as someone else or as popular as someone else. This could cause fights and generally create unwanted attention to a person. Often, students spend way too much time “lurking,” or in other words, constantly scrolling through their Social Media…
