Adults need to really take into consideration should they let their children be on social media at such a young age? There is a huge debate going on involving if children should or should not be on social media. There are many cons to children being on social media. Why is it so bad for children to be on social media? First, they can be exposed to dangerous or harmful content. Secondly, there is a cyberbullying that your child can get involved in. Third, social media can be a distraction from their school work. To prevent all this from happening to children, they should not be on social under the age of 13.

To begin, children under the age of 13 should not be on social media because they can be exposed to dangerous people or inappropriate content.

Some people may say parents should control their child's social media usage and take away their phone when they do homework. Even if parents do this, their child can lie to them saying they are done with homework or do their work very quickly and insufficiently just to get back onto social media. Some kids even take their phones out during class when they aren't supposed to. They can’t even get off their phones to listen during class time. All in all, children under the age of 13 should not be on social media because it interferes with their schoolwork.

To sum up, children under the age of 13 should not be on social media. On social media children can be exposed to dangerous people and inappropriate content. There is a lot cussing and older people who like to prey on younger kids on social media. Also there are bullies on social media children can get involved. They can be affected emotionally, mentally, physically by this. Social media can also be a distraction from the kids schoolwork. They would rather be on social media than doing their homework.
