‘Children on the Battlefield’ written by Marcie Schwarts is about children’s life in the Civil war. Boys under eighteen could not sign up to be in the infantry.However kids would lie about their ages to be recruited,they would be enlisted once they looked qualified to fill quotas.But parents,teachers and ministers would help underage boys enlist.Boys would out permission would run away and if they die they would be under false name.They are given daily chores to help the army a war.Musicians would entertain and make the army calls while power monkeys would bring gunpowder.Young soldiers would face challenges like homesickness,difficulty to find uniforms and march with drums.Some of them were bullied and exposed to drugs and alcohol.Soldiers
