In the movie Children of Men directed by Alfonso Cuarón, the director used many film techniques to slow down the barn scene to make it a critical point in the film. This scene comes right after a highspeed chase and the rebel group choosing a new leader. Moreover, this scene needed to be in the movie to give Theo a motive to finish his mission in helping Kee. Before this scene, Theo was doing it to rekindle his romance with Julian and was ready to abandon the group.
