Children In The Classroom Setting

Decent Essays
In the class setting I would make sure to document and access each student individually then afterwards observe the children within a group setting to gather the necessary information on the growth and development of the students. The development of the children is a great responsibility. Teachers have to make sure students are learning and developing in a safe environment. To be a better teacher it is important to make sure children are feel safe and part of the class and have knowledges of culture to better understand students.
Children are the most important people in the setting; they should feel safe and comfortable. A warm, interpersonal environment invites children to participate and to learn. (Gordon & Williams-Browne, 2015) Children

Children feel more secure about participating in the groups once they have understood the rules and limits. Involve children in developing some limits in the classroom, this will make them feel important and if they themselves have set the rules then the chances of breaking the rule is very less. Be clear on the transition process and limits involved in transition.…

Children learn from example and being a positive, caring, and honest support in their lives needs to come from us as teachers. From personal experience, students should know a teacher’s values and basic ground rules to receive respect from the class. The teacher’s role is an extension of their parents and building a relationship centered around the child’s interests and culture will support a positive relationship. Teachers that remember the stages of social development, the role they play in that development, and how to encourage good sense of self when teaching our youth will be successful in reaching each child. Kindness and empathy are good attributes to always practice, especially in the…

Feedback is an effective method to use which helps to aid children 's learning. This method is used frequently in the class I work with. For example, the teacher marks children 's homework, other worksheets the children did in class, which I then file in the children 's folders. The teacher then gives them feedback by writing comments on the sheets stating how good the child accomplish the task or whether the child needed to put more effort in completing the task, also the teacher wrote if the child needs improvement. For example, he would guide the child what he can do next time in order to improve his work.…

Today in the classroom, the children were “reviewing” their place holders and labeling the values, however, Ms. D and the other teachers in the room had to continue to reiterate the rules. They quickly began to back up the lesson and go more in-depth in their explanations. Ms. J used the Smart Board to put problems on the board for the children. Then Ms. D, myself, Ms. Jones, and two other aides would walk around and check that the children had done the problem correctly. Each child had a dry erase maker and a cut strip of a beach towel.…
