Children In Religion

Children in Church: A Life-Changing Decision One Sunday morning, a family with several children attends a service at a typical church. Rather than going into the children’s church, all five kids stay with their parents, remaining fairly quiet and attentive throughout the service. Afterwards, the parents are congratulated by many members of the church, and the children are praised as being “amazing” and “so well-behaved”. Why is this such a surprising and unusual occurrence? Why is everybody so amazed when this happens? Why are most children not allowed to experience worship? Most people do not realize the importance of keeping children in church and letting them benefit from the sermon and worship. Having children with their families …show more content…
Proverbs 22:6 commands us to “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” While you use this time to train your child to sit and be attentive, you will miss a few sermons, but it is worth it for the eternal impact it has on your child. Church is a learning curve for them, as it teaches them how to worship, study and learn from God’s Word, become a part of a body of believers, and respect others by sitting still, which is another plus for you. Answering questions will also help them understand things like offering and raising hands in worship. These will all help them learn to respect and pay attention in church. Also, be aware that you are the role model. Your children will do whatever you do in church, whether it is standing, raising your hands, or even folding your arms. Later on in life, both you and your child will be grateful for the few sermons you missed in order to teach and discipline them to have self-control and respect God and teachings from His …show more content…
When a child is separated from the church body, they will feel like they don’t belong, and are too young to be a part of worship and, generally speaking, a belief in Christ. Does the Bible ever say to separate the adults and from the children? Certainly not! In fact, Jesus rebuked the disciples for forbidding the little children to “…come unto me.” The best way to train a child to be an active member of the church is to have them be a part of it. Some will pray for others, some children will volunteer where help is needed, and some will evangelize and share their faith, to name a few, but they all will begin to find their role, which they can only find and fulfill if they are a part of the body of believers. Another advantage is that they can learn from, and possibly even be mentored by, the elders of the church, rather than picking up foolish, childlike habits from their peers. One more thing: believers can only successfully fight the spiritual battle and effectively evangelize everywhere if they are united, and the faith of the children is a huge part of that. Children and the church can only benefit from the youth actively taking their part in the body of

James, I was a lot younger than I am now. In my immaturity, I didn’t find as much interest in church. I thought Langston’s use of point of view in the essay was very interesting. By telling the story from his younger selves point of view, he was able to take a very individualized view of religion- for him, belief in Jesus came down to seeing or feeling his presence. This conditional belief was really interesting to see, because, almost to counter it, Hughes originally believed in Jesus, was excited to see him, and couldn’t wait for him to come. He was still unwilling to ‘be saved’, however, until he had actually seen or felt Jesus. Rather than merely believe in his existence, Hughes wanted to see or feel his presence, to truly find him.…

The first clique i’m going to talk about is the popular girls. Aka the plastics, the girls that manage to somehow hit puberty in the 7th grade and thus are the objects of every boy who also hit puberty in middle school attention. The Gothes Ohh the rebels, those that love to stick their noses up at the blond haired, cardigan wearing girls who want to fit in. The irony is their decision to wear black eyeliner, keep their hair in front of their eyes and incorporate chains and studs into their wardrobe as much as possible makes them a clique of their own. Many Churches across the nation have a youth ministry that offers children the opportunity to learn about their divine designer through Scriptural teachings in youth Sunday schools, and other ministering groups supported within the church family. Although, it does help the youth learn about God, Son, and Spirit it falls short in helping children build a closer relationship with God. Children do need to understand what the Bible is all about, but above all, they need to learn how to develop a relationship with God. Moreover, the earlier a person can discover and mature in having a relationship with their Creator—the earlier they can experience His work in their life. This helps children experience His grace and mercy for him or her—eternal…

My spiritual journey of faith has turned me into more of a “mutt” than a “purebred” Christian because of the variety of denominations and international churches that I have experienced so far in my life. However, a few years later my parents divorced and we ended up at a non-denomination church, where I spent the next 20 years.…
