It was overly decorated with decorative borders, mirrors, paintings, and portraits. The center was heavily lit with lights and carried a very distinctive aroma. It was similar to the scent of a doctor’s office with a hint of McDonald’s. The daycare also carried tight security. Cameras were placed in each corner and you knew you were constantly being watched. In addition to the cameras, to initially enter the building you were to enter your individual security code to gain access. Most parents loved the reassurance that their child was being kept safe. The daycare was often described as a mix between a museum and a mall because of the size and several rooms looked as if no one has ever stepped foot in them. Each room was able to hold fifty kids, and each age group had their own room which was intended to cater to them. I was in the after school room which was the best room. At the time I just turned ten, but I began attending this center at the tender age of three. After attending for all those years, it was a huge accomplishment to even make it to after schooler’s room. These snacks usually range from Goldfish, Lunchables, chips, brownies, crackers, and a plethora of healthy options, but no one was ever interested in them. My favorite snack was oddly enough celery with a side of ranch. My teacher, Ms. Amber would have all our drinks and snacks prepared and set up in the café area. Most of the kids just wanted to go straight to the playroom and the playground, which was off-limits until everyone completed their homework assignments. Once we finished our homework, my friends and I would go outside the playground. The playground equipment was mostly made of wood so we tried to avoid that at all cost. I received plenty of splinters and blisters from the monkey bars, therefore, I knew better. There were kids screaming and yelling everywhere. Some were playing kickball, hula hooping, jump roping and even playing hide and seek. My friends and I were more interested in practicing our cheers and swinging on the swing
