By giving them money, their goal will change from learning new things to gaining money and this can even drive them to cheat academically just to get the money. Instinctually, Humans should be striving for knowledge because that is how we advanced so far in society. In the far future, the world will not improve if the only thing people care about is money and not in discovering new ways to progress. Parents should teach children that knowledge is the most important thing they will gain in life, not money. Second reason is spoiling the children. Consider the amount of school work a child has, probably a lot. What if in every work the child gets an A, then parents will have to pay many times. The numerous amount of time the parents have to pay will puff the child with self-importance and turning the child into a spoiled brat. Third reason is that no one knows what a child will spend the money on. One may say that there is no harm in giving children money, but that is never the case. There are many possibilities on what a child may spend it on, for example, obscene materials, harmful drugs, dangerous weapons etc. There are cases in which parents are blamed or get in trouble because their children buy those things.
