The infants observed during the first hour consisted of four infants, three boys and one girl. Upon entrance into the infant classroom, it was observed that one parent was there in the room with her infant daughter, and she stated that she came to see her daughter during her break from work. The infant appeared to be content as her mother sat beside her and continued to lay on her stomach and stare at her mother. One toddler girl continued to run around the classroom, follow some of the boys around and attempted to pinch them. After numerous times the teacher asked her stop and sit down, the teacher then told the toddler to sit by her for a few minutes on the rug and “watch” her so she can “help” her.
