Are Children More Social

Today I am going to write about a very controversial topic. Are children more social because of the Internet? A lot of people think they are not, but I think otherwise. After reading this paper I want you to better understand why children are more social because of the Internet. I think that social media and the Internet makes people way more social. It gives them opportunities to meet new people they never would have known. Although a lot of time they will be texting when they meet they are more at ease with the person because they are already use to talking to them. Social media is a crucial part of communication these days. Kids from all over the world can talk to each other. You can make friends you never would have dreamed existed. All because of a few simple apps. These apps have also evolved to make communicating easier. Take Instagram for example. Instagram use to be a place where you could post a picture with a caption and people could like it. Then they added comments so people could talk about the picture, and recently they added direct messaging so you can have a conversation with anybody you want. I have personally made many friends because of social media. Social media has opened doors for me I never would have found without it. It’s created some opportunities for me and overall had a good effect on me. Social media has had a pretty good impact on society also. It makes it easier for companies to get they’re name out and to get publicity. It makes it easier for celebrities to interact with they’re fans. Social media is a good source of communication. After doing research about this topic I don’t think we are any more or less social than before the Internet. Before the Internet people always talked in person and made plans face to face. Now we still interact as much as people did before social media, we just have more tools to make communication easier. We may be able to talk to more people online but we still have plenty of face-to-face friends that we see everyday and hang out with all the time. Although I’ve met many people on social media a lot of those friendships have not lasted. But some have. But either way is till have friends in person that would be there if social media were to disappear. I would still be just as social if social media did not exist. It has been proven that social media can lead to mental diseases such as social anxiety, anti-socialism, depression and more. It has been proven that social media has caused suicide, cyber bullying, child pornography and others, but despite all that social media is still a good place to share certain parts of your life, make new friends, and see what other people are doing. Like I said, I came into this paper thinking that social media made people more social than 20 years ago when the Internet wasn’t around. But if you do some research your mind can be changed. I believe that if we were to terminate all social media people would still be just as social. We would all still have friends
