Video Games are being targeted by most adults that either don 't approve of them or they would rather have kids and teen focus more on school and getting a job then having fun while learning. Video Games can help improve three main things in life, those are a better social life , your physique, both your mentality and your overall emotional well being.

Video Games can overall enhance your social skills, since there are many different games out there from single person role playing games like the Dragon Age series, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and Diablo to the strategic multiplayer games like League of Legends(LoL), Call of Duty(CoD), and World of Warcraft(WoW). While this may be true in some parts of the world, there might be other factors contributing to this. Some of those would be the parents don 't care or noise when and how long their child or teen is spending time playing games. Or maybe that is the only way they know to relieve stress, their stress could be anything like from worrying about a big project or essay they have to write, to being abused by someone they know or don 't know. It just depends on what bothering them, find out before you blame video games.
“Violent video games have been blamed for school shootings, increases in bullying, and violence towards women.” People are quick to blame sometimes, while yes some children and teen that play violent games and they want to reenact them in real life this isn 't always the case. With most kids and teens that become violent it isn 't always the game giving them the idea or the encouragement of hurting others. Sometimes it something at home or a school, they could be being abused or bullied. Similarly they could not know why they become this way or how to stop the feeling to wanting to hurt others.
