Childish Changes

Improved Essays
I know I have changed a lot over the years and also kept a lot of things the same. The thing that stayed the same over the years is my mindset. I always had a mindset to over come my struggles in life and just keep pushing my self to do better things. I changed by not being childish any more and being more considerate of others. I learned empathy, which is the ability to feel for the other person in a situation. (Wood,2014,P.56) I learned that in order to gain respect you have to try to feel for your fellow peer and understand that it is not always about you. Over the years i have grown in height, weight and also handsomeness. I believe my peers noticed my changes due to the fact that more and more people wanted to hang out with me as I got older.I was invited to go out more with friends, and also got accepted in to more clubs because of the changes i made in life. People actually started coming to me for problems, and for advice. …show more content…
As me and Whitney grown up, we have grown apart as we matured. I stopped being childish after high school, and Whitney continued her ways. I had to end up cutting her off because we decided not to attend the same college and because she was still acting childish. I assumed that she would never grow out of her childish ways, and thought i could not help her out like a real friend. This past semester my perception of Whitney changed when she sent me a letter saying how she was sorry adjusting to the new "Eddie"

Fahrenheit 451 Essay I think that at one point or another everyone experiences a change in themselves or others. For some people it’s dressing different just because everyone else is dressed like that. Or maybe a family/friend died, and that person who lost someone suddenly became grateful for everyone/everything around them. In the book, Fahrenheit 451, the main character, Guy Montag experienced drastic changes throughout the book.…

I had the confidence to finally get out of my comfort zone and started doing what regular kids do, which seemed impossible the year before. For such a young person, I sure did realize how mature I was. I learned the habit of not complaining about what is wrong and instead getting up to actually fix it. Having experienced this, I learned that my passion was in making a difference in other people's’ lives. I know I am driven to spend the rest of my life doing it.…

I noticed that it was getting easier to talk to people without being too awkward in conversation. I started to take risks and open myself up as a person, regardless of the reactions of those around me. I realized sometime in my ninth grade year that I had always been this way, I was too scared to embrace it. This is something I consider one of my greatest failures, but also my greatest development. My younger years were difficult due to a combination of my parents struggling to pay bills and providing for my sister and me, lacking academic determination which kept me a B student for too long, and having no confidence in any personal social interaction.…

I agree with Ralph Waldo Emerson's statement. His statement was that unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered you will never grow. I agree with this because how can you grow if you are not trying to do other things in which you haven't mastered. If you want to grow you have to step out of your comfort zone. You must put yourself in strange and bizarre situations and it may feel uncomfortable.…

As I grew up in my village, I have encountered lots of social(mostly peer) sanctions. Many of these sanctions were negative. Having never taken the DISC assessment before, I was unsure about what to expect. I thought it was fairly accurate in many ways, but I felt that it very much tapped into what I consider my “work” self and did not cover much of who I am outside of that. I scored a high average score on the D spectrum. This seemed accurate, as I am relatively competitive overall, I like looking at the big-picture, I don’t mind taking risks, I can be critical of those that don’t measure up to my standards and I am very interested in new and innovative things.…
