Childhood Vaccines Should Be Mandatory Essay

Dr. James A. Shannon once stated that "The only safe vaccine is a vaccine that's never used." Many people say vaccines should be mandatory because people think they will make them protected from sicknesses, but vaccines themselves are very dangerous. Mostly, childhood vaccinations should not be mandatory, because of dangerous ingredients, harmful side effects, and the government should not come between people and their personal medical choices.
Vaccine ingredients are not only harmful but repulsive. Some vaccines for things like chicken pox, hepatitis-A, and rubella all contain fetal tissue. The tissues from another human are unfamiliar, therefore, harmful to the body. Formaldehyde, an ingredient in the polio vaccine and diphtheria vaccine, is a type of antibiotic used in vaccines as a tissue fixing agent and a preservative. The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine causes febrile seizures, a type of seizure that is most common in infants and young children in association with fever. Autism is another dangerous side effect, and some physicians believe that thimerosal, an organic mercury compound found in a flu vaccine for children and other vaccines for adults, is linked to autism.
Having to take vaccines can be problematic for those with certain religious beliefs and for parents who feel that vaccines are dangerous for their children. In the first amendment it states that people have the freedom of religion, so the law should not go against their freedoms, otherwise that would be going against the constitution.
