The rate of abuse physically and mentally are insanely high. The rate has gone up since the year of 1995. Back in 1995 malnutrition was a drastic issue in the United States. Sexual abuse has also been a serious issue in foster care cases. 37% of foster children were reported some form of previous sexual abuse (Aslander). In the time period of 1990-1995 the sexual abuse rate for England was high. A huge portion of abuse included only 1 death, 8 children were burned, 18 genital and 34 anal penetration.(Aslander) Research for children living in residential care system has been found that 12 were abused physically, 6 sexually, and 6 more experiencing both physical and sexual abuse.
