There were more than 4 elements that I identified as part of a prevention or family life education program (at least I think they are elements), but I narrowed down my favorites. The first element, and the one I believe to be the most important is that the program be prevention focused. Yes, there needs to be programs that fix problems but there are many of those out there, I believe there is a greater need in developing preventive programs.
The second element I identified was the clear and concise development of procedures and routines. In the Gearing Up for Kindergarten, this was set right in the beginning. The procedures and routines started the moment the participants stepped into the physical space, and continued throughout the program
