Childhood Observation Essay

For my walking survey, I decided to use my grandmother’s neighborhood. She resides in a home built in 1953 and has lived there for over 30 years. I am familiar with this neighborhood and I felt very comfortable with the area. The neighborhood has a strong community feel, most of the residents have lived there for as long as I can remember.

The neighborhood does not have any new houses or buildings. The houses have remained the same. The only one abandoned house in the neighborhood and this due to a house fire. There is an empty lot with a citation from the city as a result of the owner’s unkempt yard. Most of the homes seem to be one level home with a backyard.
